Speaking at SQLSaturday Oslo

This weekend, I’ll hop on a plane and fly over to Norway for SQLSaturday Oslo.

I’ll be delivering a session I like a lot: The Data Loading Performance Presentation.

Among other topics, we will talk about the #1 enemy of high performance data loading, Minimal Logging and Bulk Load, indexing techniques, properly leveraging parallelism and partitioning, SQL Server 2014 Delayed Durability.

I’ll also devote some time to talk about network and IO optimization, including using the proper RAID levels, Jumbo Frames, and much more.

Before and after, I’ll have some time to travel in Oslo and talk to many great people from the SQL Server community.

Here’s a teaser:

See you there!

Sounds like a great event! Norway and SQLSaturday Oslo sound like the perfect mix of learning and adventure. I’m especially curious how your session ties into performance optimization — almost like finding the right medicine for kialodenzydaisis healing in the data world!
